essential questions
the idea of questions just keeps coming at me this week.
in church the preacher spoke about the important life questions we should be asking and how we shouldn't get caught up in the minutia around us. at school today in a (boring) training workshop i did find a worthwhile piece of our curriculum. there are to be overarching essential questions that all the teaching and learning connect to and daily questions to return to from multiple parts of lessons. makes sense right? as long as we're asking quality questions.
asking the right questions is key. i think we each need to figure out which questions are ours. i have personal growth and spiritual questions. i have emotional/relational and family issues questions. i have professional/esl questions. i even have lindy hop (dancing) questions. i have questions about my community and about our world. asking questions is a big responsibility. once i've put a question out there, it's not very easy to ignore it. i think this is a good thing. my questins keep me growing and learning and stretching. my questions motivate me to keep on going. they help me stay on track and look at the bigger picture of things.
here are some of my recent/current questions:
what is my role in my family? how has this changed? and how should this change?
am i listening to the voice of God in my life?
what criteria am i using to make decisions about how i spend my time?
is my life in balance?
*which things am i choosing to hold on to? let go of?
what am i doing to create and sustain peace?
how am i spreading love?
anybody out there have any good questions?

That a good list. Here are some additional ones of mine:
How am I choosing to use my money?
What is the one thing I want people to say about me when I am dead?
Whose opinions really matter to me?
I like these. Thanks for sharing them. :)
Great Questions.
How about.
What am I clear about today?
