just remembering a delightful afternoon from July in China.
J and i had some time to go out for lunch and we chose a yummy tea shop overlooking a stream with gardens and bridges over it. great find. we ordered special fruit tea and noodle soup with chicken - yumm! my soup had a heart shaped egg in it - how cute! :) the tea and the soup were divine. the only trouble was that we were short on time, for having to meet back up with our group of fellow travelers. i was pleased with my chinese interactions so far in this restaurant, so i decided to try and ask if we could take the rest of our tea to go. poor choice. this was way beyond my language capabilities and we ended up being served a second pot of the lovely tea as we were trying to leave. they were just as confused as we were. we payed for both pots of tea and our soup and had to rush back to meet the others. it was a wonderful meal, even if a little rushed and with double the tea we needed.
