a long night--
the devil in my heart
torments me

trembling in every wind...

Turn thy face away from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.
Create a pure heart for me, O God,
and renew in me a steadfast spirit.
Cast me not away from thy face,
and take not thy holy spirit from me.
